Easy, convenient and quick:
  1. position vent tube in open jaws
  2. draw back the slide button to grasp it firmly at just the right angle
  3. insinuate the vent tube into the myringotomy incision
  4. ease forward the slide button to release the tube
  5. press on the outer flange of the tube to complete the insertion procedure

Note: can be ‘loaded’ before being passed to the surgeon



The basic kit comprises:

  • aural specula (oval bevelled) - 3 sizes
  • plain sucker end 3FR/18swg with stylet
  • suction tube 7FR/14swg with cleaning rod
  • gauze flannel
  • wax curette
  • mop
  • myringotome (arrow pattern)
  • ‘Grasper’ or micro-alligator forceps
  • ventilation tubes x 2
  • cotton wool
